“Mile by mile, life’s a trial. Yard by yard, it’s not so hard. Inch by inch, it’s a cinch”,… and I’m sure you’ve heard this little axiom in many forms with many taking credit for it. Let’s source it as anonymous, “okay”?
I just want to continue to carry the message to you as well as to myself, knowing that it’s all in how we look at it.
The late Chuck C. could have easily said this in his book: “Looking Through a New Pair of Glasses”, for how we handle the lifelong challenge of Sobriety, so essential to the Alcoholic’s recovery, is tied to the attitude by which we perceive it.
“One Day at a time,” one hour, one minute,…..one moment, as long as we effort to stay focused in the present, we stand a chance of communion with the God of our understanding.
No matter how we perceive the essence of that force, connecting it with our perception of the “Power of Now” (Eckhart Tole) or the powers of the universe increases our chances for contentment.
“Tomorrow’s a mystery; yesterday is history”: another anonymous adage on the presence of the present, it keeps us focused on how and what we are and what we can be, as we apply these principles to our daily lives.
